Now I'm not a big fan of Kale.  Never have been. I know it's an amazing superfood and all the health benefits. I  really want to like it - but I just don't.

Until recently.

My aunties showed me a fantastic way to cook kale lightly steamed then smothered in garlic and butter and I have to say I am now officially hooked.  I eat it quite often and cooking it this way takes the bitterness out of it.

I've been trying to find creative ways to get it into my boys but have not had luck until I tried this combo and let me just say - it's amazing!!

Firstly it is not green at all as you can see.. and these icey poles are sweet and delicious and filled with a nutrient super hit. I hope your kids enjoy them too and are nourished and satisfied! I'm happy for them to eat these icey poles all day and sometimes on a hot day - that is exactly what we do.

Ingredients

  •  1 cup kale leaves (not stems)
  •  Juice & pulp from 2 oranges
  •  1 frozen ripe banana
  •  I cup of organic mixed berries
  •  1tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Mix Kale and orange juice together with high powered blender or thermomix2
  2. Mix remaining ingredients. The mixture will appear to be very thick - this is normal!
  3. Pour into icey pole moulds and enjoy!
