If there’s one thing I want to teach my kids, it’s how to feel their feelings and express these effectively. I want my kids to become increasingly self-aware and form relationships that are deep and lasting. In other words I want my kids to be able to connect.
We have a serious issue in Australia with our males not expressing their feelings. Many have been told to toughen up and just get over it and they end up suffering in silence. Not my boys. My eldest is very introverted and is often a closed book, however, there’s a tool I’ve been using for over a year now which has made a big difference. It’s stuck up on the fridge and we refer to it daily. It’s called the Feelings Chart. I swear by it and encourage you to use it with your kids.
