Please note unlike many sunscreens on the market we have full ingredient disclosure because you deserve to know what is in the sunscreen you put on your family and every ingredient has been carefully selected to create this beautiful and natural sunscreen.
Directions:
Apply evenly onto dry skin 20 minutes prior to sun exposure. Re-apply every 2 hours and at regular intervals especially after swimming, exercise or towel drying. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and wear protective eyewear & clothing. Avoid contact with eyes. Patch test first and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Natural Sunscreen
Zinc Oxide 210mg/g (and) Coco-Caprylate/Caproate (derived from Coconut Oil) (and) Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate (Vegetable Based Emulsifier) (and) Isostearic Acid (Fatty Acid), Caprylic Capric Triglyceride (derived from Coconut Oil), Beeswax, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Tocopherol, Vanilla Flavour.
The Good Stuff in Hello Sunshine Natural Sunscreen:
Zinc Oxide
Zinc oxide is a powdered mineral that sits on top of the skin, scattering, reflecting, and absorbing UVA & UVB rays. Zinc Oxide is a highly effective active sunscreen ingredient to give broad spectrum protection.
Organic Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has a natural SPF. Like coconuts themselves, coconut oil is rich in essential fats. These essential fats are thought to keep the skin healthy and rejuvenated. Coconut oil is often used as a moisturiser for the skin. We adore coconut oil and use it in many of our products.
Organic Beeswax
We only use natural organic beeswax in our products. Beeswax forms a protective barrier on the skin to guard against irritants and lock in moisture. Unlike ingredients made from petroleum, beeswax doesn’t suffocate the skin and won’t clog the pores. Bees are amazing and are in great danger around the world. Bees are not harmed during this process of the removal of the wax. We adore and respect our bees!
Castor Oil
Castor oil is a vegetable oil obtained by pressing the seeds of the castor oil plant (Ricinus communis). We use castor oils because of it’s high concentration of unsaturated fatty acids. Castor oil has many powerful benefits on the skin and we use it because of it’s natural protection.
Natural Sunscreen FAQ:
Is your sunscreen preservative free?
Yes. We don’t use any chemical or synthetic preservatives in hello sunshine… and by that we mean Nothing. Zero. None. Nada. Zilch. Zip.
Does your sunscreen contain parabens?
Absolutely not. We don’t believe in using parabens within any of our product range. Parabens are possible endocrine disrupters and while they are what gives the sunscreen a smooth glide on finish we believe we have been able to achieve this by using naturally based ingredients like beeswax and fractionated coconut oil.
Does this sunscreen stain clothes?
It should not stain clothes since it does not contain organic solar absorbers which are renowned for fabric staining. However, this is fabric dependent and we encourage you to test this for yourself as we cannot offer guarantees about clothes staining.
Is your sunscreen nano or non-nano?
We have chosen a zinc oxide within our sunscreen that is not a nano zinc oxide. However, the sunscreen may contain nanoparticles. To explain, all powders contain nanoparticles in small amounts, every zinc oxide source will contain low concentrations of sub nanoparticles, this has always been the case. The zinc oxide that we use is called ‘micronised zinc oxide’, this means that it is not predominantly nano. We have chosen the highest quality zinc oxide that we have been able to source for our sunscreen.
Is your sunscreen water resistant?
Yes, but as per instructions needs to be re-applied frequently after swimming.
From what age can I use hello sunshine?
Hello Sunshine is the perfect natural sunscreen for babies. It can be used safely from 6+ months.
Is your sunscreen TGA approved and tested?
Yes.
Is Hello Sunshine ‘reef friendly?
There is some scientific evidence that oxybenzone, a sunscreen active, could be contributing to coral bleaching. We don’t use oxybenzone in any of our products and we don’t use any oxybenzone in Hello Sunshine Natural Sunscreen.

Love this! The cream is nice and thick but if you rub it in it absorbs really well. We like it thick for our hot summers in WA. The ingredients are truely natural. Many sunscreens say they are but if you know your ingredients you’ll find they contain nasties. This sunscreen is absolutely safe for anyone, especially kids but I use it too!

This is my favourite sunscreen. Both my children have sensitive skin and react to other sunscreens. After trialing many sunscreens, I’ve found this one to be the best.
A little goes a long way, it doesn’t irritate the skin, it sinks in nicely, spreads well, and doesn’t leave an oily feeling on the skin. A bonus is that it smells delicious.
If you’re debating whether or not to give this a go, absolutely go for it! No regrets from me and this is now our go-to sunscreen.
